 Chapter 2 at 11/25/2009 11:05:00 PMScene 2 ***Jack looked at his phone, contemplating. Jill's a button away, so to speak. One press of a button, and he can hear her voice again. Yet something stops him from going ahead and just doing it. Maybe he's scared that things will spiral out of his careful control of his own feelings. He'd never really opened up his heart to anyone before. He never wanted to, really. But it's different with Jill. For him, Jill was the girl who can laugh with him, even over the stupid things she did herself. Perhaps it's this inexplicable quality that draws him to her. Jack being Jack, he's trying to move away. To protect himself, he thinks. The opposite occurs, not only for him, but for Jill too. Two blocks away, Jill waited for the call that never came. Gonna be short posts from time to time. (Note: this is purely fictional. Don’t go hypothesizing that it’s based on somebody I know or whatnot, cuz it really isn’t.) Chapter 1: Disappointment
Jill clicked on the notification tab. 100+ new comments and she opens them one by one. Some made her laugh out loud, but after that, she just felt hollow. Facebook is, after all, a place for bored people to hang out.
The new Social Interviewer application is providing her much entertainment, to fill her time. As she waits for a call from somebody, she keeps clicking and typing. 25 questions completed. Yet he doesn’t call. Not even a message. Jill shuts down the laptop and goes to sleep. Disappointment. ***
