Happiness at 4/23/2010 08:55:00 PM

Wheee I've been a happy girl for the past 2 weeks.

First, Makan at McD with fellow LEOs.

Next, it was trip to Mid Valley! Woohoo! It was an awesome trip with all non-humans =) Watched How to Train Your Dragon which was a GREAT movie.

Sushi Zanmai. Yummy!

Then, trip to Putrajaya. Had Sushi King. Watched Clash of the Titans, didn't really like it, just not my kind of show.

Hmm...what's next...Well, went to Seremban! Watched a friend sing in a competition. Hehe. Then go makan steamboat! it was random but fun =D

Also went pasar malam! probably for the last time.

And...finally, it's my birthday. Had two celebrations, by LEO and my coursemates/makanmates/hostelmates. Yummy cakes:
American Chocolate Cake

Chocolate Indulgence: Wendy has exceeded the normal lifespan of a mushroom. heehee. Love the wordings.

In between all that were meals outside, photoshoot, stoning sessions, chatting sessions, and much more hanging out.

Study week = break from studying, very true indeed. I just can't manage to bring myself to care much about the final exams =X Don't care la, i'm having fun. Woohoo! ^_^

Feelings at 4/21/2010 01:32:00 AM

I'm being rather reflective these few days, even though been in and out quite a lot.

Sometimes I feel like, I can't wait to move on. To go forward, to fly and spread my wings. Being in a foreign country surely gives us a kind of freedom and opportunities that we can't really obtain here. New faces, new culture, new food, new buildings, new weather. Everything is new in the beginning, but I do hope it will become familiar in no time and too soon, it will be time to say goodbye to that place which was once new. This is the cycle of life..

Other times, I'm scared. I have no clue what it'll be like being out there alone. What I need is courage. Courage to trust myself, learn to believe in myself. Only then can I make full use of the opportunities available.

There's also reluctance. I'm so gonna miss this place. I've actually grown fond of the college, despite all it may lack. Will miss the friends, the lecturers, the classrooms, the library, UPO, the pasar malam, the study areas, the food, my lovely room, the trees, the flowers, the sky, and even the KTM. There's a thousand reasons to linger on in past memories...but that's not how it works.

The train moves on to another station, but I don't know where I'll leave this journey of travelling and settle down. The uncertainties of my future, creates a sense of nervousness and tension on top of everything else.

Wish you good luck and may you reach for the skies, achieve all that you aim for, be happy. And don't lose who you are in the process.

Secrets at 4/20/2010 05:41:00 PM

Have you ever found out that you're the latest to know a secret? Or worse, when the secret involves you yourself, but everyone knows about it except you? Does that suck?

Secrets. Humans just can't live without them huh? From when we were kids, we would keep secrets from our parents, from our siblings. Then next up is our teachers, our schoolmates. Nobody likes to be lied to, to be kept in the dark, but everybody loves to keep other people in the dark. What is it about the possession of secrets that attracts people? Perhaps we feel that we have something others don't have, we deem it as precious knowledge. Or well, maybe we're just a bunch of kpc. =P

Secrets can be like weapons, powerful and lethal. When revealed, they hurt other people, but the effect will usually be short. If never revealed, they lurk beneath the waters of concealment, causing ripples and mistrust in the people involved. The person keeping the secret feels edgy and keeps having to create lies to maintain the secret. The person who is being kept in the dark can in fact sense this and know that something is amiss. Nobody's stupid. This person will feel suspicious and how do you expect him/her to trust the other person?

Writing this reminds me of SAT essays. Long time ago I wrote one about the exact same topic, referencing from books. Wish I'd read "Can you keep a secret?" by Sophie Kinsella. There'd be lots of material I can use from that book.

Secrecy is such an intriguing topic, I guess that's why I remembered that essay till now. Whether it's good or bad, it's certainly necessary to some extent in our current society, especially in business and war. But personally, I don't think a good relationship can be built with secrets as part of it. It just won't work. And that includes friendship and relationship among the family too.

So, anything you want to confess before it's too late? =P

Illusions at 4/05/2010 06:54:00 PM

Sometimes I feel like I'm losing the essence of who I am. But yesterday, reading a novel like I always used to do, it all seemed to come back. I love reading, I love writing, I love rainy days where I can curl up on the sofa/bed just reading with the sound of raindrops and my favorite music playing in the background.

The thing is, change is good, but we gotta keep our perspectives and don't lose ourselves in the illusions of "betterment". Not all change is beneficial.

We travel miles and miles to find ourselves, but maybe what we've been looking for has been here all along.

Illusions
The stars shine brightly in the sky
Flickering little dots in the jet blue sky,
In the glaring lights of the city
The stars seem to appear and disappear,
Like somebody is controlling their existence.

Feelings aren't that much different.
Suddenly they're there.
You're sure about it.

Then the next moment,
you lose it.

Perhaps something or someone
Erased what shouldn't have been there,
In the first place.

The stars continue to blink cheekily,
Confounding mankind
