Change at 8/11/2010 11:45:00 PMOh guess what I'm doing. UPDATING MY BLOG! Haha so yea thanks to Quek I got to thinking...what's the difference between pre-INTI me and post-INTI me. Here goes... Before INTI, I was that little kid who's never been out of home for longer than hm...a week probably. Now I'm ready to leave home for possibly 3 years straight. Not to say that without INTI I wouldn't be able to do this. But it did prepare me for leaving so far away, let me know what life is like without parents to settle everything for you, how to endure and eventually enjoy being alone. Definitely learnt a lot from the house chores aspect. [except cooking that is] Okay and I used to be this really straight kid..like, i held strongly to certain principles and seriously BELIEVED in them. Like say, swearing is unnecessary. I'm not so sure now =/ I suppose now in college things I thought were inappropriate occur so frequently and are considered normal, I adapted. Seriously I don't give a damn what people say and how they talk now. Whatever, it's their right. This applies to various other things too, like say, smoking and drugs. [although I wouldn't like any of my close friends to do those two. i'm a prude so what] This whatever attitude is pretty much the biggest change I'd experienced I'd say. What else..hmm..INTI opened my mind yea. Not only that, it taught me how to really not judge a person by how he/she looks like. One may appear to be all good in the beginning but turn out to be rotten in the core. Like a bad apple made to look pretty with chemicals. Just replace 'apple' with 'human'. Usually guys. [in my case or POV] Plus with all the activities going on at INTI and everybody living together, my daily routine has become topsy-turvy. Before INTI, bedtime was usually by midnight. Right at the first month at INTI, I began to delay my sleeping time till like 2 something am. Attempts to sleep earlier usually don't work due to various..ahem..distractions and last minute work. So it became normal to sleep at 2am. My record now at INTI is I think 6am. Grand total of one hour's sleep that night. Awesome for me health yea? Not only sleep, food is a problem sometimes too. there are times when i'm just so lazy to go out and eat, so end up tapao-ing (me still thinks it's unhealthy to eat tapao-ed food) or having maggi mee. It hasn't happened a lot of times to me though. What always happens to irregular mealtimes. But I can deal with that. Kinda. [Though my waistline saying different story. Tend to eat more when hungry] Oh what about academics you say? Pretty much same old same old, last minute assignments and cramming. Am just a teeny bit less afraid of public speaking. Though still am quite a bit. Socially, it's been better. Met lots of interesting people who motivate me to be better. [cuz they're so good] Had loads of fun and went loads of places: Kuching, Melaka, Port Dickson, Putrajaya, Bagan Lalang, Tanjung Rhu, LCCT [loads of times], JB, Singapore, and various places around Negeri Sembilan/Selangor/KL. So yea, totally enjoyed myself and tired myself out too. Hmm...what else...oh oh now I know some Malay food too! Like, keropok lekor, and er..murtabak la roti john la. Overall, I'd say I'm more culturally aware now compared to my dear chinese high school time. Improvement right? haha. The negative aspects though...is that I care less about people, and my memory failing. Can't remember things like birthdays as well. Last time I could remember exact dates. Now only months. Last time was conscious of turning off switches, computers and lights and fan. Now I sometimes leave the computer on whole night, leave the air-cond on when I'm not in the room. Bad. Oh ya one more good thing. I'm very very accustomed to taking plane now. Especially Air Asia. Took it alone twice and countless times with some others. Planes are just like cars or buses now..nothing extraordinary. haha. Hate the stupid Nilai bus though. Still hate it now. Okay anyway this is a long blog post. Conclusion is: pre-inti more innocent, post-inti not so innocent [but still quite]. This is called GROWING UP. |
